Star Cruises Wins Top Cruise Line Accolade Again in India by Voyagersworld.in
Star Cruises was voted by thousands of Indian holidaymakers as “Favourite Cruise Company” at Outlook Traveller Awards 2012. This follows Star Cruises being voted the “Best Cruise” at Travel + Leisure India & South Asia’s Best Awards last year.
Outlook Traveller Awards, organized by the travel publication authority Outlook Traveller, is credited for setting the benchmark for consumer preferences in the travel industry since inception in 2010. The awards drew on the results from Outlook Traveller’s specifically-designed survey that garnered readers to provide unfiltered assessment of travel and tourism experiences across 18 travel-related categories. Research agency IPSOS oversaw collection, collation and analysis of the voting.
Other contenders in the “Favourite Cruise Company” category include Royal Caribbean, Costa Cruises, Cunard Lines and Princess Cruises, amongst others.
Mr William Ng, Chief Operating Officer, Star Cruises, said, “We are delighted that once again Indian holidaymakers voted us ‘Favourite Cruise Company’. This accolade validates our understanding of the Indian market as well as our dedication in turning Indian passengers’ holiday ideals into realities.”

SuperStar Gemini’s “Twins ToWin” Photo Contest
~ 10 most likeable twins to join inaugural cruises in Sanya / Shanghai ~
“Twins ToWin”, the twins photo contest launched by Star Cruises to celebrate the upcoming SuperStar Gemini, was well received by the public as hundreds of thousands of online votes poured in to pick the top 10 twins photos from 14-28 November. The top 10 most likeable twins photos were selected from 20 shortlisted photos. In the final round, public votes accounted for 40% of the weighing while Star Cruises’ votes accounted for60%. The photogenic top 10, from toddlers to adolescents, come from China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Taiwan. Each pair of the top 10 twins is entitled to two cabins on the newly-renovated SuperStar Gemini on her inaugural cruises in Sanya (1-3 February) or Shanghai (April).

BWW Commends ‘The King And I’ 11 times
Just two months of sold out shows and Resorts World Manila’s all-Filipino production of The King And I is already grabbing the theater world’s attention. Even international theater portal Broadway World and its local counterpart, Broadway World Philippines, are convinced this local adaptation of a Broadway hit is worthy of accolades. Just last week, 11 nominations were awarded to “The King And I”, to Resorts World Manila itself, and the show’s grand venue, the Newport Performing Arts Theater.
The 9 nominations given to The King And I’s actors and its production team make the musical the second most nominated stage show this year. Leading the nominations are Leo Tavarro- Valdez for Best Actor in a Musical, Sheila Valderrama- Martinez for Best Actress in a Musical, and Raymund Concepcion for Best Featured Actor in a Musical.
Rodel Colmenar is also on the running as Best Musical Director while Jo Tecson’s set and art direction is also recognized as Best Scenic Design. The flamboyant costumes of the actors made by the talented team up of Rajo Laurel and Aksana Sidarava are cited for Best Costume Design. Jerome Robbins is also nominated for Best Choreography while Rads Corpuz is back in the nominations board for the second consecutive year as Best Sound Design.
